Left and Right Counselling is proud to announce our inclusion in the Victorian state budget for 2022-2023.
This funding agreement, to begin in July 2022, signals a new partnership between Left and Right Counselling and the State Government which will enable us to provide support to many more vulnerable young people across the region.
Left and Right Counselling is a free counselling service for young people aged 12 to 25 and has been operating in a voluntary capacity for the past 18 months.
Based in Frankston and servicing the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula regions, our service boasts no-cost sessions with flexible durations, no need for a Mental Health Care Plan to access the service, and no session number limit.
Young people may seek out counselling for a number of reasons, including trauma, self-harm, anxiety, depression, addiction and more, and many of our clients come to us through our referral partners such as Headspace, Monash Health, The Salvation Army, Anglicare, The Orange Door and more.
CEO and founder of Left and Right Counselling, Daniel Lennon, said: “This funding will allow us to provide support to hundreds more vulnerable young people in a safe and secure environment where they can feel heard, validated and empowered.
We’re hopeful that this funding will mark the beginning of an ongoing and fruitful partnership between our organisation and the State Government. We thank our clients, our volunteers and our referral partners for their support and look forward to the future”.
